What can you put in a bamboo suction bowl?
Anything you would normally serve your baby or toddler. Porridge, yoghurt, pasta, stew, cereal, fruit, rice, you name it. The bamboo surface does not retain heat the way metal can, so warm foods are safe to serve. Just check the temperature before offering it to your child, as you would with any bowl. The open shape makes it easy for your baby to scoop independently, which is exactly what you want during weaning.
Does the suction bowl come with a spoon?
Yes. Every bamboo bamboo suction bowl comes with a matching bamboo spoon with a silicone tip. The silicone is soft on baby gums, food-grade, and gentle enough for early weaning. The spoon handle is sized for small hands to grip and for parents to use during spoon-feeding. The silicone tip is dishwasher safe on the top rack. The bamboo handle should be washed by hand with warm soapy water.
Will the suction bowl work on my highchair?
The suction ring works on any smooth, non-porous surface. Most plastic highchair trays, glass tables, and kitchen countertops give an excellent seal. Wooden or textured surfaces may not hold quite as firmly because they allow small amounts of air through the seal. For the best results, make sure the surface is clean, dry, and crumb-free before pressing the bowl down.
How long do bamboo suction bowls last?
With proper care, years. Wash with warm soapy water and dry straightaway after each use. Do not soak, microwave, or put the bamboo bowl in the dishwasher. The silicone suction ring and spoon tip are dishwasher safe on the top rack. Many of our customers use the same bowl from first weaning right through the toddler years and into the next child. Bamboo is a remarkably durable material when you treat it with a little kindness.
