A note from the founder
I’m Joel, founder of bamboo bamboo.
One day, I discovered something that shook me to my core: every scrape of a spoon on a plastic plate can release millions of microscopic plastic particles, straight into your baby’s food.
Then I learned the horrible truth, that scientists have detected microplastics inside infants, even in their blood and organs. Research links them to hormone disruption, gut issues, and long-term health risks.
I couldn’t un-know this. It horrified me. So I quit my job and created bamboo bamboo, beautiful, 100% natural plates that keep invisible toxins away from little bodies.
Now, thousands of parents have switched. Because once you know this, you can’t un-know it.

The average person consumes
Every week, the average person consumes about 5 grams of microplastics, the equivalent of a credit card. These tiny plastic particles come from food packaging, utensils, and even the air we breathe. Researchers have found microplastics in human blood, lungs, and placenta (Leslie et al., 2022), raising concerns about long-term exposure.
Microplastics may be sneaking into your child’s meals. Help protect them now with safer, natural materials.

Over a month, the average person ingests 21 grams of microplastics, equal to a plastic hanger. These tiny plastic fragments have been found in human organs, brain tissue, and even breast milk (Ragusa et al., 2022). Some studies suggest they may interfere with hormone regulation, digestion, and immune function (Campanale et al., 2020).
Emerging research shows hidden risks of microplastics. Reduce exposure for your kids with one simple swap. Discover it here.

In a year, we consume about 250 grams of microplastics, equal to 50 plastic bags. These particles are formed when plastic waste breaks down over time. Scientists have detected them in water, soil, and even seafood (Mohamed Nor et al., 2021), showing how deeply they’ve entered our ecosystem.
Science keeps revealing microplastic dangers. Safeguard your family’s meals. Learn the simple change parents are making.
We’re about to ruin plastic plates for you (and that’s a good thing)
Parents deserve the truth: plastic plates leach toxins, ‘BPA-free’ isn’t as safe as you think, and copycats are cutting corners with dangerous materials. Let’s break it down.
What Are Microplastics Anyway?
"Tiny, toxic, and everywhere."
Microplastics are microscopic particles that break off from plastic products - yes, even plates. You can’t see them, but they end up in your child’s food, and once inside their body, they don’t just pass through. These particles build up over time, disrupting hormones, affecting digestion, and threatening long-term health. They may be small, but their impact is massive.
How Do Microplastics Affect Children?
Microplastics are invisible invaders that sneak into your child’s body through their food. Once inside, they disrupt hormones, weaken immunity, and interfere with brain development. Research shows these particles can stay in their bodies for life, silently causing harm. The solution? Choose tableware that keeps microplastics off the menu
BPA-Free Is Not Toxin-Free.
The label doesn’t mean what you think it does.
BPA-free” sounds safe, but it’s not the whole truth. Many BPA-free plastics replace one toxin with another, like BPS, which disrupts hormones just as much as BPA. The label isn’t a guarantee of safety, it’s a distraction. Plastic is still plastic, and your child deserves better.
